BUSINESS COACHING AND CONSULTING
As your business coach I will support and guide you to find the best business vision and path for you. As your business consultant I will help you with your business plan, brainstorming new ideas, marketing and financial strategies and other business needs. As a consultant I will be a teacher as well as a coach.
MY METHOD AND APPROACH
I love to brainstorm and help my clients think out of the box and develop their business vison and strategies into something unique that will stand out from the crowd. I also have a solid understanding of creating a business plan, doing market research, marketing (both in social media, networking and other marketing techniques) and creating a good financial plan. I truly enjoy supporting my clients in learning to develop their own researching and discovery skills and encouraging them to get out of their comfort zone.
I use my mindfulness training to help clients learn to stay grounded and work in the moment as they develop their step by step plan for the future. Though my background is in the equestrian industry, I have a strong background working with a variety of entrepreneurs. I truly enjoy supporting the solopreneur and encore (the over 50 entrepreneur developing a new business) entrepreneur in managing their entrepreneurial journeys.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
Lisa came to Morrisville State College in my sophomore year, 1998. I didn’t have a lot of contact with her, but she taught an elective, basic dressage class that I had decided to enroll in. That class gave me more confidence in my riding and made it fun again. Lisa became the head instructor of the hunt seat specialization at Morrisville for my junior year, and that was a major factor in staying for the then brand new Bachelor’s Degree program.
My final two years at Morrisville were so busy but well worth it. I learned so much under Lisa’s tutelage and watchful eye. She gave me the confidence and motivation to join the hunt seat IHSA team after not having made the team in my freshman year. At my final IHSA show, I was first in the flat and third over fences. Lisa also gave me the confidence to mentor others. As the only junior in the program at the time, I was expected to manage the underclassmen while doing ‘barn duty’, as well as manage most of the care for several of my project horses.
Now, I am a professional and USHJA certified trainer, and the coach of Brockport College’s IHSA team and a young IEA team, managing and owning my own facility that we’ve built from the ground up. I use many of the exercises that Lisa used with us. I have her out every year for a clinic and my students all rave about her. She builds confidence, helps the rider think through a problem, and is a wonderful coach. I wouldn’t be where I am today without Lisa’s help and I’m so grateful for her continued influence!
I participated in one of Lisa’s Equine Professionals Mastermind groups. A group of professionals spoke on a conference call weekly. Lisa was a great coach and helped us feel comfortable sharing and discussing our businesses and ways we could grow. Lisa created an environment that allowed for a great experience for all of us. It was a wonderful experience, friends were made and the networking with other professionals was invaluable.
We all need guidance in our lives and I really enjoy Lisa’s approach as a coach. I am looking forward to working with her again in the future. I highly recommend Lisa and the Mindful Equestrian to anyone from amateurs to professionals.
EXPERIENCE
I have spent my life working in the horse industry both as a solopreneur, a business manager and a college professor teaching equine business management. I have gained great insight into business planning, marketing, education and management through all of these experiences. In 2014 I started my business, The Mindful Equestrian. Upon my retirement from teaching in 2016 I began to run my business full time. I also began working at a woman’s business center as a business counselor and educator. I have worked with women in many different types of businesses and stages of business growth. I am also a very inquisitive person and I love learning. So I now have skills in creating business plans, marketing, branding, social media marketing as well as business coaching. I have taught classes in all of those areas at the business center. In 2016 I received my CPC (Certified professional Coach) form The International Coach Academy (ICA).
I have a strong background in the equestrian industry and want to help equestrian entrepreneurs creative and grow successful businesses. But I also have the background to help you, no matter what type of business you have.

Build Confidence in Your Riding

Develop Your Intuition and Become a Feeling Rider
Without this riders can never become truly feeling riders. So much of what is taught today in riding is about position, and technique. That certainly is important to know. But there is a tendency to teach in a do as I say way, creating riders who become followers....
Let Go of Comparing Yourself to Other Riders: You Are Good Enough Just as You Are!
You are right where you are supposed to be. I want to share this poem that my father used to say to me. He has been gone 32 years and this poem brings up such fond memories. It's been popping into my head lately. I think it's because I keep reminding riders that they...
